After darkness comes the dawn. On Thursday 19.06 we celebrated the new album Turning on Your Double as a banging double header showdown. Kraut-savants CAMERA (bureau-b) kicked off the evening with driving force and set the stage with incense and pineapples. Our set featured songs off the album as well as some current experiments. We finished it all off with a special guest performance of Osama with Etkin Cekin on guitar followed by three songs improvised with the guys from Camera. Check out below for a snippet of Shame a Go-Go.
Also check out HERE for more great photos of the evening taken by Luka Strika and Jelena Mijic. Very special thanks to all who came out to support the cause!

So here is the entire story of our trip to Leipzig to play Die Nato and Max's near death experience. Video is too tough to post.
NATO

We drove down to open for Kurt Vile and the Violators, who write very, very beautiful songs. Because we were pressed for time, we rushed through soundcheck - usually not a problem. We all sensed something was strange when Alex touched his lips to a mic a got a major shock, with a lil' blue lightning appearing, not unlike that of a tesla coil. He was knocked back and dazed, but the soundguy "solved" the problem after checking the PA equipment and putting a wind cover on the mic. After that, the soundguy wanted to put our bass amp through the DI, so he plugged it right in, and immediately smoke started coming from the amp and the thing just melted. Now we knew there was a major problem, but we just wanted to fucking play, so we decided to deal with the amp later and just put the bass into the DI. Soundcheck one song quick and then showtime. All the stage monitors and buzzing real loud and our amps sounded like they had indigestion when nothing was being played. First two songs no problem. For the third song, Max gets up to the mic. Song starts, he's about to sing, when he grabs the mic hard with his right hand and receives a massive electric shock and he's paralyzed, held in deathgrip with the mic and can't let go. SIX SECONDS LONG. Standing next to him is Dave who is trying to pull him off the mic but gets the shock too. Eventually he pulls Max down and pulls the plug from guitar amp and stops the current.....THERE WAS NO MAIN FUSE FOR THE PA - DUMB WHEN YOUR MICS ARE SENDING ELECTRICAL CURRENT. Max is totally out of it, but alive (Inschallah ), Alex loses it and storms off stage to curse and scream at the sound guy. SHOW WAS OVER. After an hour or so of rearranging the plugs and electrical sources, Kurt Vile went on without any problems. They also got shocked heavy while soundchecking but didn't think anything of it.
Whose fault is this whole thing? That would be the venue (die naTo) and the soundguy, who we are now dealing with to get our busted amp and Max's doctors bill paid for (Max is OK). Tobi, the booker, was a very gracious and apologetic host and has nothing to do with the club or the soundguy and we want to make it known that we aren't angry at him at all. SCARY SHIT. Someone told us recently that if you ever want to check if there's a current coming from something and you don't have proper equipment to check , use your right hand because your left will lead to your heart. Sage advice. Well, we used Alex's head and our bass amp, but still decided things were OK. That was stupid. But even stupider and more irresponsible is the soundguy and club owner at Die naTo (can't even get the band names right on the marquee). FUCKED UP.
